lyrics
The frozen man sits at home, a lot’s grown on his dome. Chia, he comes outside at his own leisure, his own creature. Only the letters to his name, an indifferent face that’s stuck on display. His reputation unscathed. Sad to be contrived, but nonetheless he’s alive. A vagrant in his own life. Writes his own story in his own right. Reads by the bright artificial lamp light. He looks on society with his private eye. He finds the public is vile and dire. Filled with mistrials and misfires. He’s got gripes with the misguided liars and tangled wires. He wakes up in the pitch black. Goes to sleep in the pitch black. Those precious hours that he knows he can’t get back.
But then a fly flew on his window. It was so small relative to all things that he thinks he knows. It stripped him to skull and bone. Naked to his core. He was opened up without gore. All the flaws that he bore, they came to the fore. I got license to make it mine as much as you got license to take it as yours. He thought maybe life doesn’t have to be like this after all. The cynic in him dissolved, he poured himself into a tightly-sealed Mason jar.
From the jar he saw the crack of light from his door. Felt peacefully grounded by the floor. Heard all the butterflies roar. All the cold LEDs in his home, they suddenly turned warm. The bug that buzzed on his window from before gave him a nod. He thought nothing of his own downfall. And neither of the grave. His close-mindedness left the safety of his brain. He screamed “We can’t live in vein!” “We can’t live in vein! We can’t live in vein! We can’t live in vein! We can’t live in vein! We can’t live in vein!” After the sixth shout, his concave heart puffed in a Grinchian way. He jumped with joy and broke the jar. The fake audience applauded. His one gold molar had an extra sparkle. He thought to himself, “Let’s sweep this glass and prepare for the audience’s departure,”

this album is everything i love about hip-hop... mood-setting instrumentals that build a world fit for the flows of an eager and astounding emcee. kitzyboy
